Bovine BSA Serum Albumin 22%

Specific hemagglutination is the single most important in vitro immunologic reaction in blood banking because it is the endpoint of almost all test systems designed to detect RBC antigens and antibodies. Albumin 22% is mainly used in hemagglutination tests to detect blood group antigens and antibodies.  Serological albumin was first recognized as a potentiator of certain antigen-antibody interactions. Albumin reduces zeta (ζ) potential and/or water of hydration to allow red cells to approach each other more closely.
